Fenland Folk: Family Day

More than 200 people joined us at March Library for our Fenland Folk Family Day to explore the stories, wildlife and heritage of the Fenlands. Hosted by the Centre for Landscape Regeneration in collaboration with Cambridge Libraries and the University of Cambridge Museum of Zoology, the event brought together researchers, artists, archaeologists and community groups for an afternoon of hands-on discovery.
People of all ages took part in a range of free activities throughout the day, including crafts, badge making, Fenland archaeology, and mini-beast hunts, and had the chance to meet researchers, scientists and archaeologists and learn more about their work in the Fens. Visitors also shared their own Fenland folktales, memories and traditions connected to this unique landscape.
Thrilled with CLR's Fenland Folk Programme! A huge success despite the weather, the children's art is a joy & upcoming talks have something for everyone.

The Family Day is part of the wider Fenland Folk programme, which explores how stories, science and local knowledge can help us understand the changing Fenland landscape and imagine its future.
